Aventouras’ trips are a combination of exhilarating activities and unusual destinations using local and native guides, staying at eco-friendly inns, community run lodges, and family homes. Aventouras creates trips that ensure a unique “travel right” guarantee:
The Aventouras staff consists of experienced travelers who are passionate about exploring the cultures and wonders of the world while simultaneously investing in local communities and the environment. Each trip is carefully crafted to include a mixture of on and off-the-beaten path locations, unique activities and memorable experiences. The Aventouras staff gets so much out of traveling to these places - the people, the ruins, the wildlife, the cuisine, the jungle - and they are thrilled to share their favorite places and experiences with you! Featured trip: Discover Peru with Aventouras If you haven’t been to Peru, you definitely want to join Aventouras on their Discover Peru trip, which was awarded National Geographic Traveler’s “50 Trips of Lifetime” in 2010. Imagine yourself hiking the Royal Inca Trail and arriving at the Sun Gate by foot, giving you the sense of entering the fabled lost city of Machu Picchu the same way the Incas did centuries ago. Unlike the Inca, as part of the Discover Peru adventure you’ll also raft the Vilcanota River, mountain bike in the Sacred Valley and visit off-the-beaten path gems like the Salt Pan of Maras and the Incan ruins at Moray and Ollantaytambo. Then you’ll head off to Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, where you’ll sea kayak out to Isla Taquile and spend the night at a guesthouse built by the local Aymara people. You’ll glimpse traditional cultures that are still thriving today and peer at the Bolivian peaks to the southeast of the lake while creating experiences and memories you’ll cherish for a lifetime. If you are interested in an even more active trekking adventure to Peru, Aventouras is in the midst of putting together a High Andes Trekking Peru itinerary that might just be what you’re looking for. In addition to many of the highlights of Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu (mountain biking, rafting, and hiking), you’ll also do a five-day and four-night trek in the High Andes (between 12,000 - 17,000 feet) in the sacred Apu Ausungate region. Aventouras is just putting the finishing touches on this itinerary and setting up 2012 departure dates. For more information contact info@aventouras.com or call toll-free at 1-800-930-2846. |
