▪U.S. STATE DEPT. LIFTS TRAVEL WARNING FOR NEPAL ▪TWO LODGE TRIPS FOR A FIRST-TIME NEPAL TREK ▪AVENTOURAS OFFERS NEW HIGH ANDES TRIP IN PERU ▪ICELAND NAMED 'BEST IN TRAVEL' FOR 2012
Happy December!
We want to wish you all a Happy Holiday Season and Fun Adventuring in 2012!
All the Best, Andy and the One World Trekking Team
Haven't hiked in Nepal? Here are our two new lodge trips for a first-time, comfortable trekking adventure to the 'Colorful Kingdom' of the Himalayas!
Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek: 14 days, 5 nights in the Ker & Downey Luxury Lodges and visit to Chitwan Jungle
The Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek is an ideal introduction to hiking in Nepal and offers the opportunity to experience a taste of the wonders of Nepal - big mountain views, picturesque farming villages, friendly locals and rich Hindu culture. Our Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek is also the ultimate way of exploring Nepal in style! The famous Ker & Downey Luxury Lodges provide the highest level of service while on trek with amenities such as landscaped gardens for relaxing, comfortable dining and bar lounges and bedrooms which include hot showers and western-style bathroom facilities. Our trek offers a relatively gentle walk through Nepal's Middle Hills and is designed for the first-time Himalayan trekker. This is a culturally rich journey through Hindu-caste Gurung villages providing opportunities to interact with and witness daily village life. We will hike for six days through the Annapurna foothills with about five hours of easy-paced walking each day.
Khumbu Explorer Trek: 15 days, 10 days of trekking and culture at the foot of Mount Everest
Our Khumbu Explorer Trek is an easy-paced and fully-supported lodge trek which allows us to enjoy an excellent introduction to trekking in Nepal and provide a unique insight into the ‘Land of the Sherpa’ and ‘Home of Mount Everest’. The trip begins with a spectacular flight from Kathmandu to the 9,300-foot airstrip at Lukla. We then follow the traditional expedition route to the Sherpa capital of the Khumbu, the village of Namche Bazaar and onwards, alongside raging rivers to the seldom-visited hamlet of Upper Pangboche. Along the way we will visit many picturesque Sherpa villages such as Tengboche, the home of Nepal's most famous monastery situated beneath the impressive backdrop of Everest and Ama Dablam (Mother’s Charm). Our journey continues on a high traversing path connecting Upper Pangboche to Phortse and the village of Khumjung in the Green Valley. Read blog entry.

Iceland named Best Travel Destination For 2012
Phenomenal natural beauty make an adventure in Iceland a must-do in 2012. Recently voted as Top Country in Lonely Planet's "Readers' Choice Best of Travel 2012" awards, Iceland was also named as a "Best for 2012" by the editors at National Geographic Traveler magazine.
In July and August 2012, we are again offering a trekking adventure to Iceland's stunning volcanic heartland. In just one stunning week, the Sveinstindur Trek explores some of Iceland's most impressive landscapes. From rugged coast to dramatic volcanic highlands, we will journey through the southern region of Fjallabak. It is the combination of 'fire and ice' that has created this fascinating and evolving geological wonderland.

GREAT NEWS!! The United States has lifted its nearly year-old travel advisory against visiting Nepal, citing improved conditions in the Himalayan heartland.
