THE LOST VALLEYS OF NAAR AND PHU
A unique hiking traverse across the Annapurna Range into the Tibetan villages and monasteries of Upper Manang
23 days - The remote villages and valleys of Naar & Phu - Two 5000 meter passes - Outstanding Tibetan culture - Buddhist monasteries - Grand Himalayan views

Entering the remote village of Phu. The Naar Phu and Annapurna Trek.
This unique and seldom traveled route offers the adventurous trekker a bit of everything that makes Nepal so special. From Besisahar, we will gradually ascend the Marshyangi River Valley to Koto. Here, we head northwards and enter the recently opened Naar-Phu Valleys of Upper Manang. Passing through the chorten gate that designates the entrance to Naar-Phu, it's as if we've been transported into a land where time has stood still. The Himalayan Pine quickly give way to high plateau, remote Tibetan villages built of stone, ancient Buddhist monasteries and grand views of the Annapurna Range. This magical area is known to have one of the highest concentrations of snow leopards per square kilometer of anywhere in the world. After numerous days of exploration, we regrettably exit this valley via the exciting 5,315 meter Kang La pass. Here we pick up the main Annapurna Circuit route at Braga, continue to Manang Village and steadily make our way up and over the Thorong La pass (5416 meters). From the holy village of Muktinath, we trek to Kagbeni (the gateway to Upper Mustang) and on to the airstrip at Jomsom for the flight back to Kathmandu.

The Lost Valleys of Naar and Phu Trek is part of our Epic Himalayan Journey Series! These trips represent the gourmet trekking offerings of the great Himalayan Range. Please contact us with any questions or to receive a detailed trip itinerary.
