pdf-icon-smView / download a detailed trip itinerary

dhaulagiri campsiteThe circuit of Dhaulagiri and the crossing of the French Pass take us to the high peaks and remote valleys of the Nepal Himalaya. Beginning at Beni on the Kali Gandaki River, this spectacular trekking route ascends the lovely and unspoiled valley of the Myagdi Khola River which flows southwards from the heart of the Dhaulagiri Himal. After a week of walking, through an ever-changing landscape and numerous picturesque villages, we reach Dhaulagiri Base Camp and prepare ourselves for the crossing of the ‘French Pass' (17,580 feet). This is a straight forward pass crossing lying beneath the northern slopes of Dhaulagiri (8167m), the world’s ninth highest mountain. The views from this perspective are simply sensational.

We will take a day to explore the mysterious ‘Hidden Valley' before crossing the Dhampus Pass and making the long descent to Jomsom in the famous Kali Gandaki Valley. We will fly back to Kathmandu via Pokhara and have two days for sightseeing and wandering the fun and colorful streets of Thamel. This is adventure travel at its best and a fantastic trekking experience in a little-visited region of Nepal.
