TSO MORARI TREK AND CLIMB
Trekking and Climbing in Remote Corners of Ladakh
20 days - Climbing Yalangnong Peak - High Mountain Passes - Remote Villages
This sensational trek leads across several high passes to the high village of Karzok at the northern end of Tso Morari. En route, we will have the chance to meet the nomadic Chang-pa herdsmen who graze their goats, sheep and yaks on this high grassland. Above Karzok, our objective is to make an ascent of the peak of Yalangnong (6226m.), which is neither technically difficult nor objectively dangerous. However, at over 6000 meters, it will certainly present a worthwhile challenge. Ladakh is bounded by two of the world's mightiest mountain ranges, the Great Himalaya and the Karakoram.
Ladakh's remoteness and awesome high-altitude landscape preserve its Tibetan-style traditions and lifestyles which remain firmly entrenched in a day to day life left largely untouched by the western world.
